
Alastair Paton
A graduate of Leeds University Alastair is a marketing professional, and has held senior roles with leading companies in the Consumer Goods sector. Alastair joined Unilever early in his career, going on to spend 13 years with various Unilever-owned companies in the UK and overseas. This included a two year secondment in the Middle East while part of the Unilever International and five years running various UK and European parts of a Unilever-owned entrepreneurial consumer healthcare company. He subsequently moved to the U.S. to set up a new subsidiary in New York, managing all aspects of the business in the U.S. and Canada.
On returning to the U.K., Alastair spent three years as Marketing Director of Novartis’ foods business. He drove re-launches of various major brands, including Ovaltine, and launched a highly innovative range of functional foods into major grocery chains.
Alastair moved into Executive Search with Hoggett Bowers in 2001 and over the course of the next three years became a specialist in the Consumer and Retail sectors, prior to joining David Sneesby in founding Snowdon Tate in 2004. He is experienced in appointing across all functions at the executive level and works with a wide variety of clients, from major multinational listed Plcs to small start-ups with a need for professional leadership. Alastair is a qualified practitioner of Level A psychometric profiling.
