Alastair is a graduate of Leeds University and has held senior roles in two leading companies within the Consumer Goods sector. For 13 years, Alastair worked for various Unilever companies after completing the company's accelerated management development programme. The first five years were spent in the international business, working on personal care brands and included a two year secondment leading increased local marketing activities in a joint venture company in the Middle East.

Alastair then spent five years running various parts of an entrepreneurial consumer healthcare company owned by Unilever where he successfully led sales and marketing in the U.K. and continental Europe. When issues in the North American market required local actions, Alastair moved to the U.S. and spent over two years setting up a new subsidiary in New York managing all aspects of business in the U.S. and Canada.

On returning to the U.K., Alastair spent three years as Marketing Director of Novartis' foods business, driving relaunches of major brands including the classic Ovaltine hot drink and launching a highly innovative range of functional foods into the major grocery chains.

Alastair has a strong record of success in executive recruitment, having for a number of years worked for one of the U.K.'s leading senior recruitment companies. His clients have ranged from major multinational listed companies to small start-ups requiring professional leadership.
